The XMPP protocol and the XEPs should be analysed with the following ideas in mind:

  • What are the resources consumed by each packet ? (bandwith, disk, processing) What are the resources consumed by the protocol (XEP) and what are the possible parameters to limit them ?
  • How big can become the data set for a given user ?
  • How big can become a packet ?
